Instead of settling for a typical hotel, motel or bed and breakfast, stay someplace special: The Inn on the Library Lawn.

Founded originally in 1875, the Inn on the Library Lawn is a 4-season, 11-room Victorian retreat overlooking Lake Champlain within Adirondack Park.  The Inn is located at the center of Westport, in upstate New York, near Elizabethtown, Essex and Port Henry.

Every room has been richly decorated in an elegant style, and boasts a private bath, air conditioning, individual heat, in-room cable TV with VCR and/or DVD*, and very comfortable beds (Serta’s “Amber Night”).

Several rooms have wonderful views of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont.  Free wireless internet access is provided, along with beer and wine** service.  Guests can lounge in the Inn Book Store surrounded by picturesque views, or enjoy the warmth of our beautiful fireplace.  The Inn proudly displays original works of several Adirondack  artists throughout the Inn lobby, bookstore and cafe.

Check availability and make your reservation on-line.

The Inn Cafe offers a full breakfast menu year around, and lunch during the summer season.  Purchase a box of delicious chocolates made locally by Lake Shore Candy.

Located in historic Westport, guests can easily walk to both casual and fine dining establishments, the Westport Marina, and championship golf.  The Depot Theatre provides professionally staged productions all summer, and free concerts take place weekly in Ballard Park, just across the street.  Beautiful hiking trails wind through the forests and streams, with Lake Placid and White Face about 30 miles away.  Suitable for all of your lodging needs, The Inn is perfect for area visitors, or those with business in Essex County, Elizabethtown or Port Henry.

Amtrack makes daily stops from New York City and Montreal, the station about one mile away.  Albany lies about two hours to the south, Plattsburgh 35 miles to the north, with Burlington Vermont just across the lake, an hour away by ferry.
